"The Great Escape"

18" x 24"     Oil on board     $1500

I have painted this West Rim sheep camp several times, but always under more "placid" circumstances. On this day, Arsenio Diaz, the sheepherder, has dozed off. Coincidentally, the fence has collapsed, probably with the help of a shove. The sheep, ordinarily a non-curious species, have decided to explore and are headed for Two Peaks. The chickens, all except for the one being harassed by the dog, are oblivious. The donkey is mulling his options. In any case, Senor Diaz has his work cut out for him when he awakens.
